We present the preliminary notions about stationary variational and quasi-variational inequalities.
Some examples of constrained problems, such as the N membranes problem, were each membrane is constrained by the others, and problems with gradient constraint are described. It will be explained the difficulties introduced when we consider the evolutionary case.
